The Supreme Court verdict that the Governor can not be removed on grounds that he/she is out of sync with the policies and idealogies of the Union Government or the party in power at the centre is truely a land mark ruling. As a result a major political question has been answered.The bench deserves praise for this break through judgement.
According to the five judge constitution Bench, reputed elder statesmen, able administrators and eminnet personalities should be appointed as Governors. While some of them may come from a political back ground, once they are appointed to the office, they owe allegience to the constitution and not to any political party and are required to preserve, protect and defend the constitution
A Governors acts and decisions should be non political
